Question
Hello..I have an OLD shotgun that belonged to my father.
I belive it's a 10-ga shotgun...
the markings on the gun are the following:
AM ARMS COMPANY - BOSTON MASS
PAT. MARCH 2, 1782
SEMI HAM BE BLESS TRADEMARK
F.G. THICKET
'can you possibly tell me anything about this gun?
thanks

Answer
Only match I could find is for American Arms located in Boston Ma. from 1870-1901, and in Milwaukee form 1893-1904, later being bought out by Marlin. They made 12 and 10ga. shotguns, value is around $100. for 10% condition to $700. in 100%. There was also a modern American Arms Co./importer up until 2000.  I think your date of 1782 might be wrong. Thanks for your question. If you could send a digital pic I would better be able to give info. Thanks.
