Kodiak Model 260, 22 wmr

2016/7/22 9:20:57

Question
What do you know about this rifle? Currently I am trying to disassemble for cleaning and to replace the firing pin. I have most of it apart, but can't figure out how the bolt removes. Information on this seems to be very limited, so anything you have on it will be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Bob,

Kodiak Firearms operated from 1963 to 1966. They manufactured a pump shotgun (M-458) and a bolt action centerfire rifle (M-158)in addition to the .22. Prior to 1963 Kodiak firearms were manufactured under the corporate name "Jefferson".

The Kodiak's were very well made firearms and are relatively rare. However, this has not yet managed to equate to "valuable".

I do not have any schematics showing me the details of the issue in question. I suggest that you check with Numrich Gun Part Co. at www.e-gunparts.com Often times you can find both schematics and parts there for older firearms.

Hope this helps and thanks for the question Bob.
