I hope you can offer some assistance with the approximate value and year this shotgun was made. My wifes family has passed this O.F. Mossberg & Sons 410 down for a few generations and we just wanted some insite on it. It is a bolt action model 183D-B. Thanks for your info...

Hi Dustin,

The Mossberg 183 is but one of many inexpensive bolt action shotguns that Mossberg manufactured in the 50's and 60's. I cannot tell you the exact year of manufacture but I do have a 1954 Mossberg catalog that lists the gun.

Unfortunately the gun in question does not have any collector value and undoubtedly has more sentimental value than cash value. In excellent condition the gun has a retail value of only $90.
