can real bullets be fired from a blank firing gun

Question
Can real bullets be shot from a blank shooting gun?

Answer
No, real bullets can not be fired from a blank gun.  A blank gun has a blockage in the barrel to prevent firing of a projectile (it is often a small rod that is pinned or welded across the bore the barrel).

The blockage must not be removed because a blank gun is not made strong enough to withstand the pressure of firing a real bullet. Firing a real bullet will damage the gun and would also likely cause injury to the person holding the gun (or anyone nearby).

Hope this helps!
