Question
Hey Dave

I don't quite understand when you said that .32ca. cartage does come in a magumn, but check the barrel first.
Dave, if they make a magumn .32 cartage why would I have to check the barrel?
QUESTIONS: Why would the manufacturers make a cartage that would NOT accept this cartage in a .32 auto?

THANK YOU DAVE

Hi Dave

I own two auto pistols: Kel-Tec & German Makarov both 9mm.
I'm very happy with their performance. I have a conceal carry permit and carrying either one of those pistols gets to be a little unconfortable.

I'm looking for something in the area of: .25,or a .32cal. pistol.
I looked at the Bretta .22 LR but it just wasn't enough power for me. If GOD forbid I have to stop a theft/mugger,etc.etc.

I know its not a 9 or a .45cal. And I have to give up some kind of power with these little pistol.

I know that I would have to get-off several shots to the body or maybe just one head shot.

So to sum-up this novel . . . lol
There what I'm looking for: A small lightweight auto pistol with a kick.

Dave, what are you recomemdations ?

P.S. Do .32cal pistol shoot maguamn ammo?

THANK YOU DAVE
GOD BLESS

Of course, a lower powered cartridge is not as effective in personal protection as a higher-powered one, but sometimes a .45ACP can not be concealed by summer clothing.

So, in that case, I carry a Walther PPK.  The caliber is .380 ACP (also called 9mm Kurz).

The .22LR is generally not considered to be sufficiently effective for personal protection (unless it is only carried as a back up).

Yes, a .32 magnum cartridge is manufactured by Federal Cartridge Co.  But check the barrel of your gun to make sure that it can use a magnum cartridge.

Hope this helps!

Answer
The types of cartridges that can be fired are normally listed on the barrel.  A .44 special gun can not usually fire a .44 magnum round, and some guns are not rated for +P powder charges, etc.

But I forgot to point out earlier that the .32 magnum cartridge is for revolvers (because it has a rimmed case), and the .32 auto is for autoloaders.  So, you may not be interested in the .32 magnum cartridges anyway.

Federal has a .32 auto cartridge that is intended for personal defense.

Hope this helps!

Dave
