Hahn BB gun and holster

2016/7/22 9:24:21

Question
I purchased a very nice black hahn 45 bb revolver
it has a spring you pull back and load up to 18 bbs (i think it will hold 18) it says P.y. Hahn MFG. Company inc. fair port N.Y. on the other side it says Hahn 45 BB single action revolver. it has a bakelite handle ans is made in the usa.

It takes a co2 cartrige and works perfect. it also has a very nice holster that says Hahn 45 fast draw . The gun fits perfect it is worn from age but no tears or rips it is ginune cowhide

I picked this up at a flea market about 3 weeks ago (I paid 200.00) I bought it to sell on e-bay I listed it for a 5 day auction and it was up to 480.00! then e-bay stopped the auction becuase you can not sell bb guns on e-bay ( I did not know this) Anyway my questions are How much is it worth? Can you tell me some history, and where would be a good place on line to sell it? I thank
you in advance

Answer
Hello, Dom - The Hahn .45, SA Revolver was the 2nd B.B gun produced by Crosman Mfg. of N.Y.  (The 1st being the lever action rifle, called the "Hahn Repeater."
Both were introduced to the market in 1956, and as a
TANDY Leather Co. store manager, I sold the Hahn .45,
SA Revolver, along with holster kits for them, for several years.  It was quite a popular item.

The black holster & belt rig was sold directly by Crosman.  We had our own kits for them in natural leather so they could be tooled or handcarved.

After Crosman realized the success of the Hahn, they made several more variations of the SA Revolver including  pellet, in both .177 cal. and .22 cal. under the
Crosman name in lieu of the Hahn name.  To my knowledge, the two b.b guns, mentioned above, are the only ones made under the Hahn name.  P.Y.Hahn was president of the Crosman Company when the first two B.B guns of the Crosman Company were produced.  Thus, you have a unique gun because of this - however there were thousands produced, and many still exist even though they stopped making them in 1970.

As to value - well, that is always in the eyes of the beholder.  If the holster set is in good, plyable condition,
and the Revolver is in "like new condition", then the price you have stated that you paid is not TOO far off, I reckon - but if in less than new  conditon - well......!

As for the price you have indicated it was going for when E-Bay cut it off (which they do quite regularly, as they haven't "knowingly" accepted airguns for several years now.  Some get through, others get kicked off!)
then I would make every attempt to get ahold of the person who had the last bid and offer it to them.  Good Luck!

By the way - while I buy, sell, and repair most all B.B/AIR GUNS, I really prefer the "Cowboy Types", and the Hahn is one of my all time favorites.  In fact, I still have my original Hahn .45 B.B SA Revolver that I purchased in 1958 when they first came out.  (AS A POINT OF INTEREST TO YOU!

Sincerely

Old Injun
