Marlin 336 SC K14918: History, Value & Information

My great uncle gave this gun to me years ago & we were wondering if you could give us any information on it (age, value or anything else you know about it).  It is a Marlin 35 Rem Model 336 SC K14918.

The Marlin 336 was introduced in 1948 to replace the model 36. The 35 Remington caliber was added in 1952. The "SC" denotes that it is a "sporting carbine" the 336 SC in excellent condition has a approx. $400 to $500.
