California Gun Laws: Transferring a Handgun from Out of State

My brother who lives in Arizona will sell me his 9 mm semi automatic hand gun. Can I drive it back to California where I live or do I have to ship it through a California FFL?

Technically, he is supposed to send it to an FFL in California.  The FFL will deliver it to you in compliance with California law.

It would not be legal for you to visit here, collect the gun and drive it home.  You should know that people do that kind of thing all the time though...
