Stevens 240 vs. Savage 242

Question
I need some help with sizing in regards to these 2 shotguns, as this is a gift for my husband.  He has VERY large fingers, (the largest standard sizing ring at a jewelers is too small for his ring finger).  Does this automatically rule out the Stevens 240?  Any other thoughts on ANY model 410 o/u?  Older /vintage is an absolute must, USA made would probably be preferable.

Answer
Wow that not going to be easy to find.
I can't tell 100%, but my best guess is the double trigger like the Stevens 240 might be an issue.
Savage 242 is basically the same gun with a nicer stock and a single trigger.
Marlin Model 90 was available as .410 with a single trigger.
Not very many .410 u/o made in usa.
Vintage really cuts it down those 2.
One word of caution most older .410 u/o were used as skeet guns. Many will have a lot of wear and tear on them.
Beretta has model 410 vintage but imported

Winchester 101, Browning Citori & Superposed, Stevens 512 Gold Wing,, Mossberg .410 Reserve Series  were made as a .410 but they are all imported.

Connecticut Shotgun makes .410 all by hand that would fit. Everything fitted to you.

Briley can "sleeve" down a larger gauge to .410.

CZ imports a new 410 called the Redhead Mini. Nice gun not too expensive ($800ish) and new. Very well made.  Maybe the best option might be.

Good luck with your search, feel free to ask follow ups.
