Derringer identification/parts

Question

Derringer_1   I recently acquired a derringer and am having trouble identifying it and getting parts (grips) for it. This in an over/under double barrel in .357. When viewed from the front (looking down the barrels) I see the word "Texas" imprinted just in front of the barrel hinge. On the right side, down the sight rib is the word "Germany" and on the other side, also down the sight rib it says "DERRINGER .357". On the right side of the upper barrel, right next to the barrel hinge is a very small stamp depicting what appears to be old German "Reichs" Eagle with the letter N under it. Can you help me identify this weapon and perhaps help me find grips for it? I'd appreciate any help I can get....Bill

Hello Bill.
  Your derringer was manufactured by one of the dozen or so derringer manufactures in Germany. Some of these were Rohm, Wriehrauch, Schmidt, Kassner(or Kassen) among others. The Rising 'Phoenix' over the 'N' was used from the 1950's through the 1960's to show that the firearm was 'definitive for a nitro proof gun', in that the modern ammunition could be safely used in it. The word 'Texas' was to add to the appeal for the American market. The grips are easily made, since they are small. You might try googling for parts for derringers. There are two I generally recommend. They are; Bob's Gun Parts and Numerich Gun Parts.
