Firearm Ownership After California Misdemeanor Conviction: A Legal Analysis

I pleaded no contest in Ca to a 261.5 penal code misdemeanor, sex with a minor 3 years ago.I am no on probation if that matters as well. Can I purchase a firearm in CA.

Under CA law, there is no reason you should not be able to purchase a firearm. Your conviction was for a misdemeanor which does not disqualify you for firearms ownership. I am assuming that there are no restraining orders placed against you by anyone as part of your probation.
