Firing Modern Ammunition in a Vintage F&W Revolver: Safety & Compatibility

Question
I have a 32 caliber top break, 5 shot  F&W Revolver that belong to my dad.  It is at least 45-50 years old but seems in excellent condition.  Can I fire modern ammo with this gun?

Answer
Hard to say for sure.  My guess would be yes, I would make sure the barrel is clean and oiled (not wet but run a dry patch through after you oil) and I would use FMJ not lead and I would not use any high speed or +P ammo, if you know the velocity of rounds you are buying, I would get lower velocity first and then test the reliability and function of the gun.

.32 is not known as a hot or super round, so I would think any factory ammo would be fine, I would not fire reloads (cheaper) rounds.
