THANK YOU

DAVE

Answer
Dave,

There is no specific 'kit' to convert a Remington 1100 to a 'tactical' configuration.  This is usually done by making several modifications.  First, would generally add a shorter barrel, most likely 18-20 inches in length.  Second, most people get a magazine tube extension to allow for a 5-8 round shell capacity.  A third popular addition is a pistol grip stock.  Some will add a heat shield to the barrel.  Another typical modification is to add an ammunition 'side saddle' to the left side of the receiver allowing storage of additional shell.  Another modification would be to replace the 'bead' sight with a rifle type sight or ghost ring type sight.  Finally, many will add a set of sling swivels and a nylon sling to the shotgun.

Changing out the barre, magazine tube and stock, adding the heat shield and the sling can be done without any gunsmithing.  The addition of the new sights and the side saddle might require a little more work...

You can find many of the parts to make the changeover at places that sell replacement parts and accessories for the Remington 1100.  Once such place is Combat Hunting.  Their website is:  http://www.combathunting.com/Products-REMINGTON_1100_11_87.html

Best of luck and have fun if you decide to take on the project...

Regards,

Doug
