colt police positive

Looking for a year of manufacture and possible value of a colt police positive .38, but it also says colt special.  Last patent date of july 4, 1906.  Serial number 103965.  Wood grip.  Some pitting in the barrel.

Hello Leigh. Your Police Positive is a First Issue. 1919. The grips have been changed. The original grips were hard rubber up to 1923. That is when they were changed to Walnut.As far as value, with barrel pitting, $225-$300.I hope this answers your questions and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
