Illinois Firearm Transport Laws for Non-Residents - CCW & FOID

I will have a CCW in Az. and traveling to Ohio through Il.  Do I need a FOID card in order to avoid possible trouble in Il?  Or, is the FOID for just Il. residents?

Tom,

You don't need an FOID just to transport your firearm through Illinois.  If you are a non-resident, you simply need to transport the unloaded, cased firearm in your trunk.  Ohio is pretty much the same.  In Ohio, you need to transport your firearm unloaded.  In Ohio, you can transport it cased or in plain view with the action open.
