Identifying & Valuing Your A.V. Marocchi 20 Gauge Shotgun
Question
Hi Paul,
I have a 20 Ga. over & under 3" chamber shotgun. On the left side of the barrel it say's A. V. Marocciui ( made in Italy ) on the right side of the barrel it say's mod. sturdy cal. 20 Ga. 3" Under that it say's FIE MIAMI FLA . The gun has nice checkering on the wood and the receiver is nickle and completly engraved. Under the forearm the top barrel has CAM.76 15.6 and the bottom barrel has KG1.660 15.8 engraved on them Does the word MOD. Sturdy mean that one or both barrels are modified choke. Or is there a way to find out what the choke of each barrel is?
P.S. Is there any value to this gun?
Answer
Hi,
These were imported by F.I.E. from 1985 to 1988.
It worth $300 to $100 depending on condition.
In theory Mod normally means modified choke.
I would check it with choke gauge.
