Identifying Your J.C. Higgins Model 20 Shotgun: High Standard Connection
Question
I too have a question about a J.C.Higgins shotgun, but it is a model 20 pump gun. Was this model also produced by High Standard? It looks a lot like an early Winchester or Mossberg, any help is appreciated.
Answer
Mark,
Based upon the information that you have provided, it appears that your J.C. Higgins was made by High Standard between 1961 and 1965. In the High Standard model, it was designated as the model 200 and in good condition would be worth approximately $150.
It was a slide (pump) action shotgun with blue finish. It had a walnut stock and forearm. It had a five round capacity and the 20ga. guns had a 3" chamber.
Thanks for the question.
