Question
I have easily been trying to ollie for 2 years and about 4 hrs each day. I have been able to get the board into the air maybe like an inch but i cant land on it and If i do land on it it turns out the board wasnt in the air! I have almost given up several times but i want to learn to skate really bad. I can already ride pretty good and even spin around like 4 times on the back wheels. Its just the ollie thats killing me. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Answer
Ahh, the ollie. Yeah, it's very dificult at first for everyone. But you've been trying for two years and still having trouble? That's not a good sign, sorry to say this, but you may want to consider another sport. But, alas, if you really want to learn to skate you can become a good skater, no matter how little finess you have. On the ollie, you have to remember one key thing: jump. If you jump and/or suck your legs up to allow the board to get lift, and do everything else right (slide your foot up, level it out, etc) then you should have it. Another thing that keeps a lot of people from learning to ollie is fear. You might be afraid to actually try the ollie with all your will. Practice in the grass or on carpet till you get it down, then take it to pavement. It's all a matter of practice. In skating, the old saying holds true: practice makes perfect. Good luck!
