In -line wheels

2016/7/21 17:59:35

Question
My son now plays competitive roller hockey but needs new wheels. On his in line agressive skates, the wheels have a sort of hi -lo set up from 2 x72mm at the front,80mm centre and 78mm. He is keen for speed and grip for turns etc and weighs about 8 stone. I am unsure what durometer to get him (possibly 74a/76a) but also how the wheels should be set up in size now he has more experience. Should it be a flat set up with all 76,78 or 80mm wheels or stick with the hi-lo set up (which sems expensive as i can't seem to find the wheels as a pack. Any advise welcome. Many thanks Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,
I wish I could help you but I can't.  I deal mostly with artistic roller skating and some inline skating but not usually hockey.  I would hate to give you the wrong information.

I would talk to his hockey coach and get his opinion.  I'm sure he can recommend exactly what your son needs and what's best for him. Most coaches have a preference as to what their skaters are skating on.

   Good Luck
