VOLKL GOTOMA SKI LENGTH

Question
Hey- I am considering purchasing a pair of 2005 Volkl Gotama skis (a 60/40 powder ski I would say). I am 5'11" tall and 195lbs. According to the REI fitting chart, the Gotama 198cm is recommended for a weight range of 160-190lbs and a height range of 5'8"-6'2".
These skis are 196cm.  Do you think they would perform OK?

Answer
Hey Tom,

The Gotama is mainly a powder ski but many reviews claim that they work fairly well on the groomed. The main things to consider are, how much skiing will you be doing off the groomed? And will they perform well enough on the groomed to suit your needs? That being said, the length should do just fine for your size.

Hope this helps.
Keep on skiing,
