Marker 1200 Titanium vs. Rossignol Bandit B1: Binding Compatibility & Performance
Question
Ron,
I saw your reponse to Trevor on Marker 1200's on Mantras and had a very similar question. I had a pair of unmounted Rossiginol Bandit B1 skis that I selected Marker 1200 Titanium bindings to pair with. Since these skis are generally quick edge-to-edge compared with other Bandits, I thought this binding with the riser plate might be a good match. What is your opinion on whether this is a good binding for the ski? I live in the Netherlands and plan to ski some icy slopes in Germany this year but will return to the West US and do some poweder in Colo/Utah in the future.
Answer
Hi Ryan,
I'm a big fan of the Markers- I think they hold on well, have an excellent release algorithm, and a good heel to toe height ratio. I'm not the biggest fan of the Bandit, but I agree that the B1 is definately quicker and more responsive than other bandits- although not as inclined to perform in powder. In any event, the 1200 is ideal for your uses (so long as it fits your DIN setting...)
