modern mast with old base?

I recently purchased a Mistral Superlight and wanted to know if modern masts are compatible with the Superlight's original mast base and extension?  The original mast is a one piece and seems rather heavy.  Thanks!

Hey Randall,

Standard mast diameter has not changed over the years. Any standard diameter mast will work on your original equipment. What won't work are masts listed as RDM or skinny masts known as reduced diameter masts.
