value 89 Mistral Ventura LCS?

2016/7/22 14:39:59

Question
Cleaning out the garage of 20+ years, we have a near-mint condition (ok, salt stains on straps, etc) Mistral Ventura LCS.  Circa 1989 I believe.  Any idea what it might be worth (+boom/mast/2 sails/etc.)

Answer
Hey Dan,

The value of your board will depend upon the amount of gear for sale near you, the amount of potential buyers, and what those buyers are willing to spend. It is an older board and won't usually carry much value. In my local area a board like that would be hard to give away because there is so much gear available it is a buyers market. If your area has few sailors and a variety of buyers, then your value would be higher. As for a price range, you could check ebay and craigslist to find comparable boards and their prices. I would suggest starting around $300 and go down if the tentative buyers are not wanting to pay that much.

Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
Windlover
