mistral taloa

Question
Hi.  I'm thinking about buying a used mistral taloa.  I haven't found
much on the internet but what I have found doesn't sound that good.  It
doesn't plane easily and when it does it gets out of control.  I know it
has three fins but I would only use it with the one center fin. Can you
tell me more about this board.

Answer
Hey Paul,

The Taloa was not a great board and didn't last long, 2 seasons. The concept was basically a small change to the Naish that didn't work out. The Naish was a dual find design and when Bic came out with a three fin design, Mistral tried to follow. The Naish was actually a great board for it's time but the changes they made to create the Taloa just didn't work.

If you are looking to buy an older longboard, you would be better served with a Mistral One Design, Equipe, or Superlight 2 (the ones with footstraps). All three of these have lasted and proven themselves over time.

Hope this helps.
