walking with hand weights

Question
is it ok to do exercises with light hans weights (3lb) while brisk walking?

Answer
It is not only OK, it is a great way of adding value to your exercise time. You can burn additional calories at the same time you tone muscles in your upper body. Much heavier than 3 lb might wear you out too soon to get a good workout, so be cautious how much you carry. Also, you should avoid attaching weights to your ankles, as this can contribute to injuries to legs and knees.
