Best Bikes for Island Living: Cobblestone & Sandy Paths

hi- i wanted to buy a bike just for the summer.  I am moving to an island with some cobblestone streets and some sandy patches on bike paths.  biking will be my main source of transportation.  I am not a huge biker but i have done day trips with a mountain bike.  I am kinda looking for a light frame.  what do you suggest?

Gnerally you are talking apples and oranges. What you sound like you need is a fat tire, upright handlebar bike. This is not going to be a light frame, unless you buy a very expensive mountain bike.

I would look for a beach bike with at least a front suspension. Is there a bike shop on the island? They should be able to recommend something.
