What type of bike

Question
Hi George,

I am looking into buying a bike and I keep getting conflicting advice about what type of bike that I need. I would be riding on non-paved trails and maybe in the mountains every now and then, but mostly on bike trails. Also, I am a woman and have decided to buy a man's bike. Is there any reason why this might not be a good idea?

Thanks for the help, It is greatly appreciated!!
Have a great day,
Ricki

Answer
hello Ricki : )

Okay, so you want to bike on non-paved trails right? Then your gonna need some good tires with bite! You will want a bike with 26 inch rims and a good width. I would go with a 26 X 1.75 tire. A 26 X 2.0 will be too fat of a tire.

Secondly, There is NO reason why you can't buy a man's bike. Honestly I think it should be the the other way around! Why do guys need that top bar?? Im always worried about it! LOL

Have you looked at the Jsdy bike made by (I think its Santa Cruz) Its a woman spesific bike that looks like a mans bike, check it out.

Well hope I helped you out!
