Getting musle develpment form a bike?

2016/7/16 9:30:13

Question
I have been cycling now for 3 years (approximately 4 miles a day) and i notice a great increase in muscle growth when i first started then it phased out for the following 2 years i was wondering how i could carry on improving my leg muscle gain through cycling without doing more miles?

Answer
Hi Elliot,

The lack of growth is because your legs have gotten used to the amount of stress you are putting on them.

There are several things you can do. First try cycling with one leg at a time. This is very tricky at first but gets easier as you do it. Also try a route with more hills. Both of these will help overload the legs and will help cause more muscle growth.

Also what is your diet like? This can effect muscle development considerably.

Her is a great diet and exercise program http://www.easiestdietintheworld.com/?hop=trainerjer

Hope this helps,

Have  great day,
