Boat Model Number

I just bought a 1989 Champion Bass Boat.  There is no model number listed anywhere.  Is there a way to determine what the model number is by the seriel number or anything else?

The serial number of your boat ought to be impregnated into the gel coat on the upper righthand corner of the transom (when looking at the back of the boat). First, the letter characters identify the manufacturer, the last 4 digits determine the month/year of manufacture, and the middle numbers indicate the model.

Also, check the capacity plate on your boat. It may identify the boat's manufacturer, and display the boat's length and model name, and often, the model name is printed on the side of some boats.
