Question
ny suggesstions on how to get a prop off of a 1990 bayliner capri 50 horse force its jammed on bad i took out the cotter pin n the cone n started hitting with piece of wood but nothing n can u tell me where the helm is located

Answer
Hi Eric....You seem to be encountering a few problems with your boat. If I recall, I addressed an earlier situation for you.

I believe there's a ratchet washer that goes behind the nut and actually fits into small notches or slots on a circular ring. The washer needs to be removed, incl. the cotter-pin. If all else fails, you'll need a special pulling device, so you don't damage or distort the centre hub of the prop.

I'm not certain if I'm confused or I just misunderstand your last question about "where the helm is located". Anyway, the helm is the steering position on a boat, and is usually situated on the starboard (right) forward side. However, some boats have steering in the centre, and others might be on port or left side, dependent upon which way the prop turns.
