Hydraulic Steering Fluid for 1999 Mercury Outboard - Proline Center Console

I have a 1999 Proline Center console with a 1999 225 hp mercury outboard.  The vessel has hydraulic steering. What type of fluid should I use , where do I add it and where do I check level of same?

Sounds like you recently acquired the boat without any owner manuals. Go online to Mercury Marine for full details on their recommended type of hydraulic steering fluid and where to refill it. Failing that, I suggest you consult a local Mercury dealer.
