GPS

I am not sure my first question got out. So again I will ask: I am goint to install a GPS chart plotter and need to know if I must use one that has a external antena? My locating for the unit will be under my soft top and near my windshield. I previously had one in that same location with a external antena and had no problems, however would like to not have to run out a receiver to make my installation. Thank You

Hello Ray,
You can install a GPS with a built in antenna under the soft top and behind the windshield with no problems. I do this all the time, the only way that you cannot do this is if the boat has a hard top of metal or fiberglass.
