evinrude motor

2016/7/15 18:26:33

Question
My evinrude motor has become hard to shift into gear lately. What would be my best starting point in solving this problem? I believe it is the shifting arm and not the cable.

Answer
Hi Dennis...thank you for selecting the undersigned to reply to your question.

The problem could exist in the lower unit, and in particular with the carrier bearing. Alternatively, it may be the linkage that is out of kilter. I suggest you consult a qualified and reliable marine mechanic to trouble-shoot and resolve the problem.
