resting before race

2016/7/15 11:23:30

Question
Hi, I gallop 6 days a week for 1 to 2 miles and breeze or workout very 7 to 8 days, I usually rest them a day or two and then start up again. My question is how much rest if any should they get before they are entered to race?

Answer
hi  each horse is different. i had a big stud and i would work him 6 furlongs the day before the race in order for him to run his best race. other horses you can walk in between races and they will run a winning race for you. you will have to train each horse the way they like to train and you will have great success. thanks ED HESS
