Question
Dear Ed,
I am getting into stables two racehorses, one is a health problem G2 race runner(than 2yo, now 4yo) from England, and other filly is non-runner 2yo from auction. What are best basic checks (without veterinarian) for their health condition, also stamina conditions? Thnx for answer..

Answer
HI WELL A VET CHECK WOULD REALLY BE THE WAY TO GO, BUT IF YOU LOOK FOR SWELLING IN THE LEGS, KNEES . CHECK THE FEET FOR PROBLEMS. TROT THE HORSE TO SEE HOW IT GOES. LOOK FOR NASAL DISCHARGE.CHECK TEMP. CHECK EYES FRO ANY PROBLEMS. BUT AS I SAID A VET CHECK IS THE WAY TO GO . THANKS ED HESS
