QUESTION: Hi there. We race thoroughbred horses and we have noticed that when there hermaticrit levels were above 40 they ran great. For the past month the numbers have been stuck at around 34. Our Trainer feeds a good commercial grade horse feed and Alfalfa hay. What can we do to get the hermaticit blood level over 40 again. TY Wade

ANSWER: hi i am not sure if you feed a iron supplement, that is always good for the blood. hope that helps you  thanks ED HESS

QUESTION: Sorry about that. We do feed an iron supplement. An old timer once told me about a jug which has liver,iron and vitamin B. Have you ever heard of this type of jug. If not what would you recommend

hi -you can always check with your vet , he or she will have advise on what to give the horse for the blood count. yes there are jugs that do have all of the vits etc the horse needs to keep rheir bolld counts up to par. hope that helps you  thanks ED HESS
