How fast should they run?

Can you please tell me how fast a quarter horse should run and for how far before even considering racing a horse? Thank you Deanna

Answer
This is a hard question to answer since there are all levels of racing for these horses for different distnaces. If he loves to run and loves to run fast, then get some training in him and enter him in a race. He doesn't have to run far since quarter horse races are very short.
