exercise rider to amateur jockey

Question
hello sir, lets suppose i have a plan to become an amateur jockey but presently working as an exercise rider. i have 1 year of work riding experience. if i apply for amateur jockey license, how much time does it take for me to learn race riding skills. can you tell me roughly?

Answer
An experienced and skilled exercise rider should be very capable of race riding. If an exercise rider feels he or she is ready and believe they are able to control a horse safely in a race then I would say they are ready to try. Only experience will give them the skills to become a good jockey.
