Sire & Dam history

Question
I once owned a Thoroughbred by the name of Roman Tar.  HIs sire was named Tarjoman and his Dam was named Roman Model.  After selling my beloved Thoroughbred to attend college back in 1978, I realized I had never taken the opportunity to research his lineage, and have something about where & who he came from.  To us he was a great horse, but it would be nice to know just how good or great he was!  Can you help?

Answer
Hey Angel,

Well, I'm not coming up with any information about your horse, Roman Tar. Was he registered? I did however find information on his lineage. I am assuming that you live or lived in Europe, because every horse in his lineage is from Europe

Starting on his sires side:

His sire, Tarjoman was a 1951 brown stud. From what I am seeing, I don't believe he ever raced.

You horses Grandsire, Tehran won ?,285, and was the Champion English Sire in 1952. He had 9 starts, 6 wins, and 2 places which is not bad at all.

Here is a link to your horse's Sire's pedigree: http://www.pedigreequery.com/tarjoman

On his dams side:

I cannot find record of her in any of the pedigree sites that I use for my research so there is either a chance that she wasn't registered which isn't likely. It is more possible that she never raced, and so they don't have as detailed records on her pedigree.

There are several decent names in his lineage, but honestly nothing spectacular. However, I am not nearly as familiar with the big name European race names, as I am the American ones and i apologize for that.

I hope this will help you some, however I know there isn't a whole lot of information here. Feel free to ask any follow up questions if you want.

Thanks!

-Nicole
