         That sounds great. Old horses are often very canny but they are usually good for inexperienced riders. 23 is quite old though. Hope you all have lots of fun together.

Hi Debbie,
         I assume you purchased the horse locally so he probably raced in your region between 16 and 21 years ago.
There are several ways to track down his racing career and record.
1; He is registered with the American Quarterhorse Association so an enquiry directed to them will provide the information you want.
2; Check his breeding and then contact the breeder.
3; Talk to other owners of similar horses, someone might remember him.
Any of these methods should produce the result you want.
