Addressing Hind Leg Length Discrepancies in Fillies: Expert Advice
Question
Hello sir, today i had been to one of my friends stables. he has a 2 year old filly.she is jet black with no face and leg markings.she's so beautiful. but i observed that her back is low.then i thought that she has short hind legs. there is no balance in the filly.then, can i use calks on shoes to train this filly so that her hinds legs will raise and makes the horse look proportional, well balanced.
Answer
hi --caulks will put the horse off balance. if she is short legged, then she is short legged and she will have a way of going that will compensate for that problem. caulks will jar her when she gallops etc and cause problems, worse then being short legged. i would use reg shoes on her and see how she trains. thanks ED HESS
