Understanding Horse Racing Class Differences & Performance

I wanted to know a lower class horse how can give better timing than higher class horse timing  on same day same distance!! but when a lower class horse runs in a higher class it is nowhere!!

hi i have ran many horses and against all kinds of class races.  the classy horse will always beat the cheaper horse and i am not sure exactly why that happens, but it usually does. they seem to know they are running against a better horse and they try hard to win , but they are just out classed. hope that helps you  thanks ED HESS
