ponying

Question
A race track just opened near our house..and I have always had this idea that ponying would be a dream job for me.  The race track is Presque Isle Downs in Erie, Pa.  I do not have a horse.  Our horses were Arabians and they were 24 and 28 when they passed.  I can NOT bring myself to get attached again....it was and still is so hard losing them.  It has been MANY years since they passed.  Anyway, do I stand ANY chance getting a job.  I would LOVE to be trained to pony.  I teach Kindergarten and make beach glass jewelry and have an excellent work history.  Can you give me any advice.  Thank you.  Sue W.

Answer
hi sue--  well you would need to go to a horse training farm and start working on the farm ,learning to pony race horses. trainers always need pony boys and girls to pony the race horses that have some leg problems ,to keep the weight off them. hope this helps you  thanks .ED HESS
