How to a horse Jockey

Question
Dear Stephanie Frost,
People say that I have the looks of a Jockey but I don't have any experience I'm very interested in being one.
Can you help me in this, theres a local track near bye by the name of Lone Star Park  at Grand Prairie at Grand Prairie, Texas. Can you refer me to some one you know ASAP.

Answer
Pedro,

I don't really do personal referrals, but if you want to be a jockey, there is far more involved than just looking like one.  Like the ability to ride and ride well.
If you are a rider already, then try some local training farms around Lone Star, and look for work as an exercise rider.  Once you're really fit and used to breezing tons of horses, then you can start asking around at the track for anyone looking for exercise riders.  Once you're established with them, and know the ropes at the track, then you can ask to be put on mounts in the afternoons.

Good Luck!
