Knee gave out (gives up?)

2016/7/22 10:09:51

Question
Hello John,
After running about 2 miles I decided to fast walk a lap.  Warm day and no prior knee issues.  When I started up again about 20 paces my right knee felt like it just gave out where I had to take weight off and stop, moderate pain.  I walked off the initial shock and tried to slowly jog on it again and pain slowly built up so I decided to stay off of it.  The only change I can see is that I was on new quality shoes.  Do you think this is a isolated event and I just need to strengthen supporting muscles or could this be something more serious physically? No swelling this evening, no pain worth mentioning, can walk fine.  Thanks in advance for any advice

Answer
Hi Tom
There is not an isolated situation when it comes to a problem.Your body is talking to you,Fix me.Your job is to take the appropirate action to correct the situation.Shoes not the problem and not serious.Start a core and leg workout such as leg extensions and curls with stationary bike and ab work and back extensions. If you have any other questions Tom just  Get in touch.

All the very best

John
