How long to run for weight loss?

2016/7/22 10:10:07

Question
Ryan
You have probably answered this question before but I want to see it in print so I can tape it to the wall!
I am an early bird,so I have a couple hours to workout every day before I get busy.
I have a new treadmill set up in front of the TV,so I am ready to go!
I need to lose about 25 pounds, and am seeing a little progress on my low fat diet.
I am getting all kinds of advice re. the treadmill-run real fast for 30 minutes,do sprints, blah blah.
Jog 90 minutes three times a week.Jog 30 minutes five times a week.
I am motivated so give me my orders!

Answer
If your goal is to lose weight, you need to focus on time. Longer slower running is better for you. Try to run at least 5 days a week, and of course wathc your diet. Stay away from sugar (sodas, sweets, etc) and eat salads, fruit, chicken ( not fried!). Ideally you should go for 45 minutes or more.
