Hurting ankles

2016/7/22 10:12:40

Question
I have started jogging three and a half miles three times a week, and after two weeks my ankles have started hurting.  I am determined to carry on as I enjoy it so much.  Could you please give me some advice.

Thanks, Caroline. (28 years old)

Answer
Hi Caroline
You have to back off a little and strech your runs out with a little more rest and let the body catch up to your program. The body adapts over time, but you can't force it to do what it doesn't want to do.Without rest there is no growth..Start incorporating some good walk days untill your ankles start healing up.Also start taking 500mg vit.c with your 3 meals a day.Like gold for runners and active athletes.Last be Patient and don't be in a hurry. It takes time.

The very best to you

John
