Running but gaining!?

2016/7/22 10:13:23

Question
John
(If I have asked you this before I apologise.)
I recently started lifting weights and running twice a week for 20 minutes.I kept my calories low.I looked and felt better but gained 10 pounds!
I know about muscle weighing more than fat, etc,so I quit the weights and started running on a treadmill three times a week for thirty minutes.I am still gaining-up five pounds!
I am a small guy-5'7". I now weigh 235lbs.I dont look too overweight however.Am I going to keep gaining? When will it level off and I start losing?

Answer
Hi Barry
I think you did,but thats ok.Barry the first thing you want to do is have your body fat measured by calipers from a qualified individual to have a base line to work with and measure your progress.A health club would probably take care of this for you.Get back to me when you have that info.and we will pick it up from there.

Best to you

John
