Question
I jog about 20 k per week and am in my 60s
My heels become painful round the edge of the sole of my heel ie under my heel it feels bruised
I know there is a name for it far to comlicated to remember do you know it?It recovers with rest as do many things but is there any treatment?I am to some degree suffering from ostio arthritis in my big toes?
so there is a bit of compensation from one to another

Answer
Dear James
A few things come to mind....Bone spurs....subtalar arthritis....a tid bit of plantar fascitis...bursitis.
Things that would help would be ice after run...500mg of vitamin C with your three meals a day and a heel cup which you could probably find in a pharmacy or contact a local podiatrist and maybe a running store.Just check around.
I hope these help guide you james.Let me know it works for you.The complicated name is probably plantar fascitis which is a slight tearing of the covering of the foot.

The very best to you James
