getting back to work

Question
Hello,
I am a 28 yr old male, 5'10", 230 lbs. About six months ago, I
lost about twenty pounds, now I see my gut slowly growing
again. The reason is a retreat from much of the excersise I did
and of course poor eating and drinking. I love to run on the
treadmill and punch the heavy bag, but I don't like weights at all.
I do however like to workout with a 10lb medicine ball. Can you
help me get on a routine that will lead me to 200lbs ASAP using
these activities? I'd also love to hear your ideas about diet. My
job is a social one that sometimes leads me to intake some
alchohol. I thank you and appreciate your thoughts and time.

Answer
Evan,
Run on the treadmill.  Get a good cardio workout on it for like 20-25 minutes 4 days a week.  Use the medicine ball for ab work (crunches, side to side ball taps with feet elevated, side crunches, rotational crunches).  Punch the bag on the alternate days when you aren't running for 10-15 minutes.  You should really see some results from this.
Try to consume smaller meals and have like 4-5 meals.  Make two of them a piece of fruit and the other ones just a small meal.  Don't overeat, which many people tend to do.  As far as alcohol is concerned, just consume moderately.  Don't overdrink.  Drink a glass of wine at dinner if it is appropriate.  Have a beer after work if that is your choosing.  Don't have several though.  Moderation is the key.  Eat in moderation.  Drink in moderation.
Hope this helps.  Best of luck.
Ryan
